Desk Topmost
How it works: press CTRL+ALT+D and your desktop and desktop icons appear; double click on any icon or folder to access, just as you would normally; or right click to get back to what you were doing if you want to. You can customize the hotkey and the level of transparency.
Heres some PROS and CONS.
PROS:
- Original idea: a very interesting concept, the kind of thing we love here at Freewaregenius
- Light footprint: approx 4 megs in memory.
- Right click not supported: on the overlaid, semitransparent desktop. Too bad.
- Takes a little getting used to: just as any new way of doing things would.
- Do not press CTLR+ALT+D repeatedly; like I did, because you will start new instances with each press.
I would have included it in my been included in my recent Another Forty-Three of The Best Free Windows Enhancements That You Should Know About post had I learned about it earlier.
